Freedom
When I think of freedom, I think about the man, woman or child who might not understand what that really means. I think about the misunderstanding and misguided beliefs we often harbor of what it is to truly have freedom. Well freedom from what? See that’s a good question. Understanding and appreciating what freedom means, must come from the perspective that one is freed from something. Could be freedom from having to struggle with any number of challenges ranging from finances, relationships to family and the list could go on.
If you knew nothing else than to play in a room alone with toys all your life, freedom may not have any significant meaning to you during those times. However, if you had visits from others while spending time in that room, it may serve as an eye opener to the fact that the realization of something else may exist. Something else that is either better or perhaps not much different from being in a room alone. How would one even determine that which is better or is equivalent to freedom?
Freedom is the ability to be untied, without walls and the possession of inward strength to conquer what would have once been inabilities. Let me explain. Imagine the feeling of being stuck in a dead end job that if you do nothing about, will last for years. No career advancement, no passion pursuits, no way of achieving your goals. You are never able make two ends meet and there is the eminent struggle from one pay check to the next. Does that thought make you feel tied down? Does it make you feel boxed within four walls? What about your strength? Do you feel worthless? That feeling is the opposite of being free. What you felt during this imagination exercise is close to not living.. well I mean dying right?
Now let’s turn that around with another imagination. This time you have no limitations, you can advance at your will, you can spread your wings and fly.. You can pursue passions and break records from doing things you never even thought you could do. Does that make you feel weak? I am certain it doesn’t. As a matter of fact, enjoying freedom is the art of living. Freedom brings meaning to life and even though you had the ability to imagine these things, being free and exercising your imagination is a beautiful thing.
So, what does freedom mean to you? What have you done with your freedom lately? How are you dreaming and using every chance you get to passionately pursue things and add meaning to your life? Wouldn’t it be nice if you had all the power to be as free as a bird? Well it shouldn’t surprise you because you do have the power. You do possess the ability to cause yourself to be strong enough to move those mountains in your life that is holding you down. It’s the same ability that causes you to feel paralyzed and trapped into thinking you cannot do better or you are just going with the flow.. With only a change in the direction of your thought process, you could become free from anything that seek to undermine or impedes your abilities.
In the end, wouldn’t it be better if freedom won? Wouldn’t it be best if freedom reigns even if nothing ever happens? I dare you, nothing will never happen if you don’t begin to process your thoughts on the abilities you would awake with freedom.
Freedom is the result of you unbinding your mental self coupled with the belief that you are possible.
